Hello! First of all, if you made it over here, thanks. I am enjoying my hiatus from Facebook and at the same time, I miss the updates. Here's a totally random list from me today.
Earthquakes and aftershocks kind of rolls off the tongue like porkchops and applesauce, right? Anyways, here we go.
1. We've been rocking and rolling over here since Friday's 5.1 centered in the next city over. The aftershocks have been constant. Constant. I'm a born and raised California girl and I will never get used to them. I have finally been able to sleep again, I felt like a zombie over the weekend.
2. My youngest son became a Boy Scout on Friday night, the Friday night. As in, we were all in a high school gym for the earthquake. Not fun.
3. My sister is awesome. Last Tuesday she took my niece and her friend and I to see a panel at Paleyfest. The panel happened to be of, The Mindy Project, one of my favorite shows on tv now. My favorite characters are Morgan and Danny, and I got selfies with both of them on my phone. If you follow me on Instagram, you can see one of them. Pretty thrilled about that.
4. We ate at Canter's Deli. If you are in L.A., you have to stop there. I get the same thing all the time, but I can't help it. The Brooklyn Avenue is sandwich perfection. Pastrami with coleslaw piled on rye bread, it's pretty self explanatory.
5. I love drugstore makeup. There, I said it. I find this funny because those of you that know me know that I don't wear a lot of makeup. I just like going and looking at all of the new items. I used to go in high school with my girlfriend, Tracy. When we were bored, she'd call me up and we'd meet at Savons. We could spend hours there. She was totally in to makeup. She still is!
6. I still find myself wandering the aisles. It's pure relaxation for me.
7. On my nightstand, The Book Thief, Beautiful Ruins, and Under the Wide and Starry Sky.
8. My daughter has her first loose tooth and cannot wait for it to come out, today she even asked my to pull it! Unfortunately, I could not get a good grip on it and it still remains. I expect it to fall out very soon.
9. Dinner tonight, In n Out. I can't wait.
10. I made it to 10! Have a great week.

Lists with Friends #7
Thoughts on the Oscars and other miscellanous stuff.
1. I have seen a few of the movies that were up for awards this year. I don't have a favorite, but I really enjoyed Gravity and Philomena.
2. We watched, The Wolf of Wallstreet and honestly it was just too much. Too much of everything.
3. I enjoyed American Hustle, but not as much as I thought I would.
4. I have seen Frozen a couple of times, and I love it. I love, Let it Go and thought Idina Menzel did a fantastic job. So did Adele Dazeem. John Travolta however, did not. He had one name to read!
5. We will be watching 12 Years a Slave soon, and I can tell from the previews that I have seen that Lupita Nyong'O absolutely deserved to win. How great was her reaction and acceptance speech?
6. Ellen did a great job hosting. I appreciate a comic that isn't mean. Bravo, Ellen.
7. That is it for the Oscars. Oh, one more thing. Best dress, Lupita again. Gorgeous!
8. I started a new book that I picked up at the library and I am loving it very much. Please pick up a copy of, Until Tuesday: A Wounded Warrior and the Golden Retriever Who Saved Him by Luis Carlos Montalvan. You won't regret it. I am also thrilled that our library will be hosting the author and Tuesday. I am hoping to go see both of them.
9. On my nightstand waiting to be picked up, Under the Wide and Starry Sky by Nancy Horan. I loved her book, Loving Frank. What an insightful look in to the life and loves of Frank Lloyd Wright.
10. What are you reading? Have a great week. xxoo Hey! I figured out lists in Blogger!

Lists with Friends, #6
I let a couple of weeks go by without a list! The kids have been sick, all 3 of them and we are finally feeling better.
Here's my list for this week, of nothing in particular.
1. I just finished, The Valley of Amazement, by Amy Tan. Hmmmm. How should I put this? I enjoyed the book, it is well written. But now I know more than I want to know about the life of a Chinese courtesan, and everything that life entails.
2. Tonight I am starting, Stories I Only Tell My Friends, by Rob Lowe. Boy, did I have a crush on Rob Lowe! And truth be told, he is still pretty cute.
3. The Winter Olympics do not interest me at all, in part because the coverage stinks. Yes NBC, your Olympic coverage stinks.
4. I should be cleaning instead of updating my blog.
5. My daughter loves the Birdie series of books by Sujean Rim. We just got, Birdie's Big-Girl Hair, and it is quickly becoming her favorite nighttime story. The illustrations are so cute too!
6. My favorite show on tv is The Mindy Project, and it won't be back with a new episode until April. Boo. It is seriously a funny show, I love Morgan Tookers and Danny Castellano.
7. What are your favorite tv shows?
8. What are you reading?
That's it for this week. xoxo

Lists with Friends, #5
This week's list is simple. Here are the songs I'm really loving right now, in no particular order.
1. Happy, by Pharrell. I dare you to listen and not smile. It's hard to do! Plus, it makes me want to dance.
2. Counting Stars, by One Republic. Great, catchy tune.
3. Roar, by Katy Perry. Don't judge me. It makes me happy.
4. Let Her Go, by Passenger. I love it, it's a beautiful song.
5. Pompeii, by Bastille. The acoustic version. L-O-V-E.
6. Summertime Sadness, by Lana Del Ray. Another great beat.
7. Dirty Paws, by Of Monsters and Men. Really, this whole album is great.
8. On Top of the World, by Imagine Dragons. Hard not to snap along to this one.
9. Sweater Weather, by The Neighbourhood. I am singing along constantly.
10. One More Summer, by No Doubt. No Doubt will always remind me of my time at Cal State Fullerton. They played a few lunch time concerts there, way back when.
So what are you listening to? Have a blessed week. xxoo

Lists with Friends, list #4
For this weeks's list I thought it would be fun to give a glimpse into my life by showing the last 10 things I searched on Google.
1. Gerd, don't ask. The sufferer would be me. No fun.
2. Yakety sax. Because you need to know the name of the Benny Hill song and play it to wake up your daughter. She's a nut.
3. Shellacked, just checking I spelled it correctly.
4. Disney Photo Pass
5. Capital of Myanmar
6. Quotes about secrets for teenager's report on The Secret Garden.
7. Narnia, needed a character's name.
8. Chicken breasts, easy recipes. Duh.
9. Sports induced asthma, information for yet another report.
10. Can you take Benadryl with Albuterol? Just checking.
Have a good week! xxoo
