my weekly update

It's getting harder and harder to blog. Gee, I wonder why? ;) So, here is an update. We had some beautiful weather here last week. We took advantage of it and spent some time outside. The boys always enjoy riding their bikes or Big Wheels around the pool. We have quit a few races here, either racing or stunt riding is popular too. :)
We also spent some time out in the front yard with Robert while he worked on our sprinklers which he started hmmmm, about 6 months ago? I loved the bird trap that the boys made, and I was a little disappointed that they weren't going to catch a bird in it. They used "poison berries" (their term) to lure the birds in, then the trap would fall and catch the bird. I love how their minds work.

This week it's gray and raining. The rain is light, just enough to clean everything off.

I spent last Friday after noon and early evening with Harrison at Urgent Care. He was at his soccer clinic and fell really awkwardly on his thumb. I knew the second he fell that he was hurt. He got up really fast and was holding his hand like he was in pain, but bless his heart, he told his coach that he was ok. He was trying so hard to be brave. It wasn't until we were in the car that he told me his thumb really hurt. It looked awful too! Three hours later we found out that it was not broken, just bruised badly. I did get some neat x-rays of his little hand. Thankfully we didn't get sick after sitting in the infirmary, I mean waiting room for so long.

Audrey is doing well, she sleeps better on some days, and not so good on other days. How can I be mad at her?

happy birthday dad :)

Happy birthday to you, dad. I love you very much. I have the best memories from childhood because of you and mom. I treasure my memories of our tea parties the most, and it makes me smile to see you do the same with the boys. You taking a "drink" of tea that is way too hot and pretending to burn your tongue never gets old. I'm sorry we didn't get to see you today, and this is so late. As you know, I've got my hands full. ;) We hope to see you soon and celebrate your birthday properly. Love, Jenny

*Here is my dad (Papa) with his newest love, Audrey.

bathtime & Baby Björn

Well here we are just shy of three weeks old. Time is flying by. Sleep isn't so elusive now, it is getting easier to figure her out. Of course, I may have just jinxed myself, but we'll see. It is a rainy day here today. Everyone is still in their jammies. I just wanted to share my view into the Baby Björn when she is in it. She loves her hands. Here she is alseep, with her hands clasped. She looks so prim and proper, you'd never believe what she does in her diaper! Why did it take me almost a week to remember that I had a Björn? It has definitely helped in getting things done around here. She doesn't seem to mind it either. Now bath time is another story. We get a nice serenade each time she gets a bath. I am becoming pretty good at doing a quick wash and change.

I've got some great photos of the boys holding here. They love to and ask all the time if they can. They look so proud when they are holding her. It makes me proud. Yes, we are doing fine. I am trying to savor this time right now, it is going by so quickly. She already looks a lot bigger.

Happy Sunday.

I got an award!

I got an award. What a nice surprise I got when I checked in with my friend, Mary Jo. She bestowed this most excellent award to me. Here are the specifics:
The rules: By accepting this Excellent Blog Award, you have to award it to 10 more people whose blogs you find Excellent Award worthy. You can give it to as many people as you want-even those that have received it already, but please award at least 10 people.
Here are my picks for excellence: :)
1. Michelle D., you always have a kind, encouraging word for me. I appreciate you checking in on me during my last days of pregnancy and of course, the friendship we have formed. I sure wish you lived closer.
2. Susie, my stamping friend. I have had the pleasure of meeting a couple of times. Lucky me. We have to get together again before you move.
3. Mary Jo, right back at you! We have really connected. And, anyone who loves U2 is a friend indeed. I sure wish you lived closer too.
4. Katy, I sure wish you lived closer too! I have talked to Katy on the phone, and I can probably talk for hours with her. We have a lot in common too, not just scrap-booking. I especially love her take on mothering boys. After all, she has got 3 really great sons.
5. Marie, I have met your sisters and one day hope to meet you too. I am very excited for your family right now. Marie is going to have a son in April. You have to know her family to know what an occasion this is. :) Let's just say that this little guy is going to be surrounded by some beautiful cousins!
6. My sister, Chris. She has got a blog through Mac, and hint, hint....she needs to update it!
7. Maddie, my ever creative, ever energetic niece. She has a blog too, and it is silly and fun just like her.
8. Elizabeth, a great friend. I know our paths will cross again some day. How she does all that she does, I have no idea. She is also a great source for book ideas. :)
9. Suzanne, most of these connections would not have been possible without her. She is also a sweet, dear friend.
10. Cathy, if any one can make me laugh on a continuous basis, it's Cathy. She also is an incredible woman, she just happens to have a great sense of humor too.
