Charlie's most excellent birthday weekend

Charlie turned 7 on Friday, the 17th. Seven! Where did that come from? I don't know. Friday started off on a high note. I let him open one present. We had the family over on Saturday, so he had to wait one more day to open all of his gifts. I think he was happy with this pick, he picked a brand new game for his Leapster2.

He also requested Chick-fil-A for lunch, a request I was happy to grant. The rest of the day was spent playing with his brother while I cleaned and got ready for the party.
Saturday was the big day. Charlie picked Spiderman as his theme. I ordered the cake from Baskin Robbins, and it was good! Saturday was very hot, we had the air conditioning going full force and the house still was warm. His party was fun, he got a lot of gifts. More Lego sets. The thing about Charlie is, he doesn't care if he builds them or not, he just wants to play with them. He is quite happy to have someone else do the work. This is a win-win for Harrison because he loves to build them! I can't decide if Charlie is lazy or smart. ;)


Yesterday we took a totally spur of the moment trip to the beach. We went to Corona Del Mar, a beautiful beach, surrounded by beautiful homes. We didn't go to this particular beach, we were just to the left of it. Look at all those umbrellas! It was the perfect day for the beach.

The boys headed straight to the water. Audrey and I enjoyed watching them, then it was time for her first dip in the Pacific. She did not like it at all. She preferred to sit on the blanket with me and I think it was the first time I've seen her happy to sit still!

our big day recap

Everything went pretty well yesterday. Audrey did fairly well, she tolerated most of it before she melted down. I really can't blame her, I know she was tired and probably wondering what was going on and what all the fuss was. She did not cry through the entire service like Charlie did when he was baptized, so that's good! Surprise, surprise we made it to the church on time. I got her dressed in her gown once we got there and the service went pretty fast. She looked adorable. My sister and her husband gave her a sweet little bracelet that everyone loved. I told you how the gown was worn by us, she also wore the bib that Harrison wore for his baptism that was given to him by the confirmation students that year, and the shoes that Maddie wore when she was baptized.
We had gorgeous weather. I am thrilled that it was yesterday because today it is raining. Mid week it is supposed to get up to ninety. Go figure. Everyone had fun. She got some lovely gifts, the food turned out good and all in all it was just a good day.

We've had quite a big day here. Audrey was baptized and we celebrated Mother's Day. :) Here is a favorite from the church. I'll tell you all about it later. We are in need of some sleep. Happy Mother's Day to you.

IT'S A GIRL !!!!!

Hi, this is Chris, Jenny's sister-Surprise, Surprise! The baby arrived at 2:52AM at the shock and awe of her parents. Yes, Jenny's water broke at 11:50PM and they were off to the hospital!
Here are the specifics:
Audrey Mae
7 lbs. 9 oz.
20 in. long
has enough hair for a bow (the nurses gave her one already, as she was the only baby for a while in the nursery.)
Eyes: blue
Hair: Sandy blonde/brown (almost reddish tint)
Cute as a bug!
Mom and baby are doing fine, pictures to follow when the girls get home!

21 weeks and counting...

Here I am. I grabbed Robert yesterday morning as I was on my way out and made him take a photo of me. My sister and niece came by and picked me up. We went out to see her friend Kathy and her newborn son, Jacob. He was a week old yesterday! Oh my goodness, seeing him made me very anxious to see our little babe. He is sooooo cute and tiny. I don't know why, but you forget how tiny they are. What a good baby too, he seemed so content and unfazed by the noises of his home. He's got 3 older siblings who are all crazy over him. What a sweetie he is. After our visit we went to lunch and then to a big baby store. I wanted to buy all kinds of things, but I didn't! I am definitely getting excited though.

I'll update next week. We've got preschool starting for Charlie on Tues., and Harrison's first day of Friday school on, Friday. duh.

tooth # 3 has left the building

I don't have a photo yet, but last night during dinner out with my mil, Harrison lost his other loose tooth. We were all eating dinner at Seafare (the best seafood around) and Harrison suddenly exclaimed (loud enough for the entire restaurant to hear), "Mom! My tooth just came out!" Silly boy, he said at first he thought it was a chicken seed from his chicken fingers. What a nut. He ran over and gave it to me, so I wrapped it up in my napkin. We were all happy. I knew that tooth was coming out any second now, it has been loose for a bit and during lunch yesterday he loosened it some more. He would not let me touch it though. He was scared there might be some blood, and a little nervous. He was very pleased when he remembered that his Auntie is in Hawaii right now and wouldn't be flying home just to pull his tooth out. :D
It was pretty comical. The mother and daughter that were eating nearby cheered for him, and our waitress brought him an extra big helping of icecream for dessert. We all will remember this dinner for a long time. So that's two teeth in one week. The tooth fairy has been a busy lady lately.

In other news, our ultrasound is Thurs. and I am anxious to see that everything is fine. At my appt. last week the heart-rate was 152. Harrison was with me and he remarked that it sounded like a horse. It really does!

tooth # 2 is out!

Harrison has finally lost tooth # 2. It has been loose forever, and this morning I noticed that it was kind of hanging. Ewww! We had been affectionately calling him, "Snaggle Tooth." I happened to be talking to my sister at the time and she offered to come over and pull it out. She also told Harrison that she would pay him a dollar if he agreed to it. Of course he did. She came over and took it out. That stuff doesn't sit well with me. And, it won't be long until # 3 is ready too. It is also loose. Thank goodness Auntie lives close by.

I took a couple of pictures of him by himself, but this one was by far my favorite. Harrison asked if Charlie could be in the picture too. Charlie seems just as happy as Harrison, although I suspect he is happy because none of his teeth are loose yet!

the boys now know

Last night we told the boys about their future sibling. I asked them what they thought might be in my tummy and after Harrison guessed, "food" (which was right, btw) he guessed, "a baby?!" They were both excited and even gave us some suggestions for names. Harrison thinks we should name the baby, "Max" if it's a boy and, "Pinky" if it's a girl. Charlie likes, "Mack" for a boy and, "Lula" for a girl. I told them both that I would certainly think about it. ;)

Charlie also said the cutest thing that made my heart melt. Harrison was trying to guess if it will be a boy or a girl and Charlie said, "Well you know Harrison, God is the one that decides." Sounds like that's going on a scrapbook page.

I am also officially showing. Drawstring pants have become my best friend.

I have a secret...

and now you know too. Yep, big news around here. I'm due January 15, 2008. And yes, that is three days before my 40th. I started out feeling great, now I'm not doing so hot. But, we saw the doctor this morning and peanut looks great. We are telling the boys tonight and I'll let you know how that goes. :)

breaking news...

Harrison's tooth fell out over breakfast. Well, not over breakfast, in fact it almost fell in his breakfast. He pulled it before that could happen. All is well, no blood. He was concerned about that. As for me, I am struck by how different he looks without that little tooth.
