I'm not sure why I let so much time pass between posts. Sorry about that. We managed a quick getaway up to Santa Barbara last week. Here is a list of highlights from our trip.
1. Best bumper sticker I saw, "0 to 60 in 15 minutes." Ha! It was on an adorable old VW van.
2. Best sign a homeless guy was holding for money, "Rocket out of fuel." Creativity always gets me.
3. Best treat we had, McConnell's Ice Cream. We went two times during a 5 day stay. Seriously, if you have one near you I am envious. I tried the flavors, Key Lime Pie, Chocolate Covered Strawberries and Churros con Leche. They were all the best!
4. Favorite thing about our vacation from the kids, the hotel had a pool.
5. Favorite museum in Santa Barbara, The Natural History Museum. It's gorgeous, plain and simple.
6. Favorite thing about the hotel from Robert and I, the wine and cheese selection every day at 4:00 p.m.
7. Random things that happened to us, (a list in itself)
a. While enjoying the beach and the view of the hang gliders overhead, one decided to drop out of the sky, and fly a few feet over our heads before safely landing on the beach.
b. While coming down State Street after dinner one night, the whole street, signals and all went out. A complete power outage. It was creepy and neat all rolled into one.
8. We found an incredible pizza place on our last night? Lucky Penny. I'm kind of glad it was the last night, otherwise I would have eaten an awful lot of pizza.
9. We met a dog named, Tiffany. Apparently she likes jewelry.
10. We had a great time, but it was fantastic to come home and sleep in my own bed.
