busy, busy, busy!

Well, I thought I would have posted before now but as you can see, I've been busy. This week looks like another full one so I figured if I didn't post now, I never would.
Last weekend was my sister's birthday. her and I took the kids to Disneyland, minus Audrey. Her husband and Robert were both busy, so it worked out pretty good. Robert watched Audrey for me. We had a good time, we got there shortly after they opened and headed straight for the Haunted Mansion. I had been talking to the boys all week about riding it, and they did! Harrison didn't mind it, but Charlie was a little freaked out. I had never seen it decorated for Halloween, and it was wonderful. It is decorated right now like The Night Before Christmas. We rode that, Casey Jr's Train, the Merry-Go Round, the Tea Cups, Finding Nemo (another ride I had never been on), Buzz Blasters, and then we walked over to California Adventure. It was hot, hot, hot! California Adventure has a darling area called Candy Corn Acres. There are candy corns everywhere. We had lunch then went on a couple of rides. Maddie and I went on my favorite, The Tower of Terror. We all saw Crush from Finding Nemo, we were going to go on the new Toy Story Ride, but the line was too long. I think Chris had a good time, people were constantly telling her, "Happy Birthday!"
The next day, the five of us went to the pumpkin patch at Cal Poly Pomona with Harrison's Boy Scout Troop. It was fun, and packed with people. By some miracle, we found our group and proceeded to walk around the patch. The boys both picked out some pumpkins and then we were off.
The Monday before that, our homeschool group had a craft day get together. The boys made some cute bird feeders and other crafts. It's always nice to get out with our group.
This week we have a Halloween party with the Boy Scouts, and a field trip to the Port of Los Angeles, and of course, trick-or-treating! This year I have a Clone Trooper Rex and Anakin coming along. (Harrison and Charlie). Whew! Have a good week. :)

The photos are out of order, but you can figure them out. If you look closely you can see Maddie and I in the second row of Tower of Terror. I refuse to pay 16.95 for their photo!

boo!

Another quick post. My dad sent this photo to me. I just wanted you to see the adorable dress my mom made for Audrey. She wore this for her 9 mo. photo.

That's it! Have a good weekend. More to come later.

weekend update

Greetings! Here is Audrey enjoying her bath time. I let her stay in the tub for a little bit, she loves it. I love the bath seat too, it has really cut down on me having to wring out my clothes. I used to get soaked when I gave her a bath, now it's not so bad.

Our mantle will be demolished on the 20th. Woo hoo! I realized that I need to empty out and pack up my curio cabinet. It is a good thing, it will force me to edit my collections, which is something I have been meaning to do. I also need to pack up some halloween decorations that are currently on the mantle.

The weather is beautiful right now!

I am so happy, I found some hard-to-find Playmobil that I've been looking for. I found it on line at a toy store in Canada. I called and spoke to the nicest lady and after a couple of tries, we got the shipping to a reasonable price. I can't wait for Harrison's birthday this year, he is going to be so surprised.

Darn it, someone let a fly in the house. Off to take care of that.

Have a good weekend.

ten on tuesday {monday night edition}

1. Tooth number 2 in Audrey is proving to be a problem, mainly for me and sleep.

2. We finally are going ahead with the bookshelves/new mantle project. The first guy that gave us a bid turned out to be a bit flaky and unreliable. The second guy that came out is the winner. He is bringing over samples this weekend, I can't wait. I'll be sure and show before and after photos.

3. So much for the nice cool weather we were having. It's supposed to be hot again this week.

4. Project Runway-don't get me started! I was so ticked they didn't vote anyone off last week. Ratings shmatings.

5. No news on our car. The waiting is driving Robert crazy. He's roasting in his car that doesn't have any ac.

6. I still need to get plants for my flower beds.

7. I'm looking forward to a new episode of The Office this week.

8. Our new fridge is nice, I am totally loving the side by side model.

9. I got a haircut finally.

10. good night, or good day depending on when you are reading this. ;)

getting ready for halloween

I can't wait to get this sweet little print I ordered from Danita over at Etsy. I just think her illustrations are so cute! I am thinking about the Alice in Wonderland paper doll print for Audrey. I don't know, we'll see. I've got my box of Halloween decorations down but right this moment it is too hot and I am too lazy to decorate. Plus, I promised the boys they could "help" me and they are at my parent's house swimming and enjoying the heat.

We got a new fridge last night. I'm trying something different and we went with a side by side model. I have always had my freezer on the bottom. It will be delivered tomorrow, so right now I'm in fridge limbo.

Pretty exciting stuff, huh?

ten on tuesday

1. my refrigerator might be on it's way out. We'll see what the repair man says. He gave me a lovely 4 hour window for his arrival.

2. Did you know we have a cockatiel? Yes we do, her name is Audrey. My, is she loud!

3. I need plants, lots of them. Remember the Great Sprinkler Project of '08? Well, it's done. Now I need to fill up my front planter.

4. Harrison joined the Boy Scouts. He is a Wolf Scout. He is most looking forward to, not the camping, not the activities, but the uniform!

5. These patterns really make me want to start sewing again. That, and I still need to finish the quilt I started in The Year of the Quilt.

6. Audrey got her chubby legs caught in the crib yesterday. After a moment of panic I managed to get them out and the bumper is back up.

7. Project Runway will be down to the final 3 tomorrow. Here's my take: Jerell, LeeAnne, and Korto. Any one of them could win and I'd be happy. Anyone but Kenley. I sure miss Stella and her leathah.

8. I need a haircut. Bad.

9. My bad boys from Entourage are back. I have missed them.

10. Jan '09 is too long to wait for Big Love to return. Writer's Strike, hmph. I don't think so!
